Florida Procurement Technical Assistance Center
The Florida Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (FPTAC) help Florida businesses interested in obtaining contracts with the Department of Defense, other federal agencies, state and local governments and participating prime contractors. Counseling is provided free of charge to any Florida firm, although fees may be charged for special services and/or workshops. The PTAC center's purpose is to: educate businesses on government policies, generate sales and jobs for Florida Businesses and to improve the business climate and economic development in Florida. Our counseling services include: bid and proposal preparation, basic training conferences, marketing, contract administration, pre-award surveys, quality assurance program and special training programs. The Institute for Technological Innovation The Institute for Technological Innovation (iTi) is an outreach organization integrating business savvy with computing and engineering knowledge. Formed under the sponsorship of the College of Business' Center for Leadership and Innovation, it provides the human resources and ideas for supporting the College mission--- within 'second circle' framework-----"that bridges the university and the domestic and international community in a technologically advanced and rapidly changing global economy." The ongoing projects range from developing the 'Web Classroom of the Future' (for training employees at a local and national IT firms) to sponsoring research and education activities like the National Science Foundation's 'CREW Decision-Support System,' the 'Enterprise Resource Planning (SAP R/3)' and 'Second-Circle Business Certification' initiatives with partners in Germany, Latin America and Switzerland. Institute for Advances in Marketing The Institute for Advances in Marketing (IAim) is a proactive partnership between education, industry, government, and the community. Dr. Barry Langford is the Director of IAim and an Associate Professor of Marketing. The Institute houses a world-wide consortium of experienced business consultants, and offers research, training, and specialized new-marketing services to enhance customer/supplier experiences. Most IAim consultants hold Doctorates in their business and technological specialties from AACSB accredited universities, and their non-proprietary research is widely published in peer reviewed academic and practitioner journals and conference proceedings. DaRT Management Development Certificate Program DaRT training at Florida Gulf Coast University's (FGCU) Center for Leadership and Innovation (CLI) is designed specifically to prepare current managers with uncommonly high advancement potential (high-potentials) to assume greater responsibility, as well as increase the level of performance in their current position. We train today's high-potentials for rapid advancement to senior management, rather than just training managers to be better managers.
